The first follow-up to "Lloyd the Chipmunk and the Quest for the Perfect Job" is a collection of 200 workplace-inspired sketches that began in 2005! "Valid Reasons for Being Late to Work" features Lloyd the Chipmunk in a series of reasons for being late.
The book is entirely written and illustrated by me, John DiBiase.

"Honestly, I don’t remember exactly *how* “Valid Reasons for Being Late to Work” began. The very first “Valid Reason” was birthed on January 4, 2005 - (I was 24 at the time) most likely right after returning to my office job after the New Year holiday.
As you read them, please keep these facts in mind:
1. I drew these for me and my coworkers, I never intended to share them with a wider audience.
2. There is NO continuity! (This frustrated my mom when she recently read through them.) Lloyd is sometimes a kid, sometimes a 20-something year-old, sometimes married and sometimes a teenager -whatever he needed to be for the gag at the time.
3. Not all of them made it into this book. I did leave a few out that were either too stupid or too similar to other “Reasons” to be worth sharing again.
4. Lastly, some of the jokes are super “dated” - like flip phones! - so do keep that in mind, too."
